Default Bike trip from Ashfork to Kingman

Hello,
I'm an American living over seas. I plan in April/May take my vacation in Northern Az. I do a lot of bike riding. Can anybody tell me any info about the hotels and roads between Ashfork and Kingman?

By "bike riding", you're talking bicycles, right? In that case, hotels and roads between Kingman is easy, as there's only one of each. You'll need to take Rt66 from Ashfork to Kingman. Actually, that section of Rt66 begins at Crookton, which is about 5 miles west of Ashfork along I40. How you'll get to Crookton is anybody's guess. Biking on interstates is sometimes legal if there's no other route.

There are hotels in Seligman, but that's too close to Ashfork to stop for the night. The only other hotel that I know is the Hualapai Lodge in Peach Springs. That's about half-way between Ashfork and Kingman. Here's their phone number: (928) 769-2230

Other than that, I'm assuming you know that this is a pretty desolate area with almost nothing in the way of services. You'll need to carry water to last you 40 miles at a stretch, in high heat, with potentially high headwinds.

According to this and from what I remember it is legal to bike I40, but you have to stay on the shoulder. Can't think of or remember of any lodging. These guys kinda did it in reverse.

I have done the ride you are talking about. plus riden most every paved road in arizona. It is no problem riding the interstate unless around a major metropoliton city.
Yes come out of Ashfork and exit at Crookton road (old route 66) take it over to Seligman. spend the night there then on out rt 66 you can stay at the grand canyon caverns motel or peach springs other than that not many motels between. be prepared for a wind and long days if it blowing.

Too cool. Maybe we should hook up for a ride sometime. I'm not in your friends' league, but might be able to give you a tune-up ride while you're getting back in shape.
