Tucson vs Bullhead City
Check them out! I agree, in that in Tucson, you'll have a greater ability in getting a job verses out here in Bullhead City. There's casinos here, but not much else, unless you're in the medical field? Also, it sounds like there's more stuff to do in Tucson. There's not a whole lot to do here in Bullhead! So everyone says! But there's not much in arts, musuems and culture out here. I'm in Golden Valley/Kingman and like it. I wouldn't move to Tucson myself, but get info on both cities and compare what they offer you. Don't forget to make a few trips out to visit them! Then you can really investigate!

My biggest gripe about Tucson is that it has all of Phx's drawbacks yet not only are the wages lower (damn near/at BHC levels) for blue collar trades; but, Tucson looks 'worn out'.

Tucson baby!
I grew up and lived in Bullhead City my whole life. I just moved to Tucson a year ago and I can say I'll NEVER go back to Bullhead (except to visit)!
I've had more positive life experiences in the 1 year that I've lived here than in the 21 I lived in Bullhead!
The only thing I miss is the river. I never really swam in it, I just liked having a body of water I could hang out at.
But here there is Mt. Lemmon, which gets snow in the winter (and only an 18 mile drive upwards will give you a spectacular view of the entire city at night), we're surrounded by mountain ranges which lend to great hiking, Saguaro National Forest on both sides of the city offer great outdoorsy type stuff, awesome mom-and-pop restaurants, happening art scene, clubs (if you're into that), all kinds of schools/colleges (if you want to attend one), amazing music scene, and 20,000 other things that are better than Bullhead! Because of the North/South/East/West grid pattern of the city, it's almost impossible to get lost once you're back on a major street. In the summer during the monsoon, there's a lot of neat thunderstorms which cool down the city (we've only topped out at like 105 this July) and are just so exciting. They also make the flora very lush Cheapest gas in the entire country.
There are only a few drawbacks. Lack of a highway through town creates a lot of extra driving (although traffic never gets as bad as it does in Phoenix; none of stop and go crap), and since the town moved OUTwards not UPwards some extra buildings in disrepair that do look a little worn out as previously mentioned. Also, it seems like they're always doing roadwork on certain streets but that's easily avoided.
I've befriended some great people here and everyone you meet is really nice and down to Earth.

That is interesting.
Several times that I attempted to move to Tucson over the last 10 years-------without fail, I was blocked (car breakdown, etc).
The two times that I said 'damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead'--------I almost lost my financial 'ass' there and got the hell out ASAP.
Suffice to say: I have learned my lesson and whenever a chain of (metaphorical) roadblocks are thrown up in my path......I turn around.
As for Bullhead City, heck, for Mohave County as a whole.......I typically have done well------especially factoring in the tiny population base.
As they say: different strokes for different folks.
Now for weird: on paper Tucson is more my kind of place (more metaphysical culture, cooler summers, more rain and so on)-------apparently things aren't as they seem.

I'll never understand the purpose of such threads... It's like San Francisco, CA vs. Blythe, CA - makes no sense.

I like Bullhead City....Been here 17 years. The job market is not too great, tourism is probably the top market here. Construction was booming until last year when the real estate market went bust. Government jobs are still the best bet here.

No BHC
Hi, I live in BHC. I actually do like it here very much! It is a nice, quiet, small town, which I do love. But I am moving to the phoenix area becuz of my health. There is no "back up" or specialty doctors in BHC, Kingman or even Havasu. many of the doctors are just small town "ma & pa" type doctors here and there is only two level 1 hospitals. there is no trauma center. basically if you get anything serious, you will be transported to either Vegas or Phoenix. Unless you have great insurance, they will take you to phoenix, about 4-1/2 hours away. Also, the radiologist at one of the hospitals have diagnosed my husband wrong 4 times in the last year and wrongly diagnosed my Father in law, with cancer!
And the sad thing about BHC...is a lot retirees move here and there is not good enough medical care.

While that may be true about Bullhead, you're dead wrong about Kingman. There are many excellent doctors here, and tons of specialists. KMRC is an excellent hospital. I don't know where you get this "Ma and Pa type doctors", but that is absolute rubbish.

Yep i have to second that comment about Kingman , but as to to Bullhead i must say i spent the last 1 1/2 yrs there taking care of a friend dying of bone cancer. Those mom -pop doctors extended her life by 5yrs. 3 month. I would have to say mom and pop did a good job. I had to have foot surgery , doctor said I would be down for 6-8 wks. 3 weeks after surgery I was walking with shoes on . Plus i didn't have to wait 9 mo to get in for the surgery! My reg. doctor found a lump on my neck 90 days later I was in for surgery to remove the cancerous lump never know I had anything done , Not Bad for a Ma , Pa Doctor. Again didn't need to wait months to get it done. Will return this winter to Bullhead , great place, as to nothing to do should be so much to do , can't do it all. Just my thoughts .
