Default Try Wickenburg!

I did some research, and I guess the best choices for me are western Arizona cities like Yuma and Lake Havasu City. They both have some of the lowest housing costs in the state, as well as low crime. These areas are considered by many of the people on this forum to be the armpits of the state, but I would gladly prefer an unattractive setting over the high crime and extremely rapid growth that you find in places like Phoenix and Tucson, as well as the flooding and horrible weather out here in the Midwest.
Try Wickenburg, AZ. It is just far away enough from the Phoenix Metro area that you should enjoy it there....

OMG!!! No kiddin!!! Just set that oven at "110" just sit in front of the oven door!! "dont burn yourself but make sure your face is right there "as you open the door!!!" ROFLMAO!!! "feel that blasting heat on your face!!!" Thats considered a dry heat, now imagine 50% humidity ROFLMAO!!!! Thats no freakin damn lie!!! thats exactly how it is here!, and the temp has been known to get up to 117'in the valley (record temp!). Now in YUMA Arizona it can get as hot as ((120'!!!)) YUCK!!

===========MORE TIPS============
As mentioned before: You will need...lots of water, long sleeved light colored shirts, hats!!!. You can also buy some pretty good travel misters if your going to relax at the river/lake/pub.pool/BBQ/Park/sitting on the porch or back patio or in your Arizona room and is geat for a refreshing mist on your work break!! Theres also these things like bandanas called Neck Coolers which work awesome with the hand misters for what ever your doing out side
Misters: You can also buy misters for your patios exc... at Home Depot, Lowes exc...

AC/Swampers: Its great to have both an air conditioner and swamp-cooler so when its a dry heat just flip on the swamper, but when its a humid as hell heat lol "flip on the air conditioner" "keep the AC at like 78' saves money"

Save $$$ on repairing/bills by: Have your air-conditioners & swam coolers checked and serviced in the winter. Makes them more efficient if you keep them serviced "like new condition" and now for Heaters: checked and serviced in the summer. You save money on the off seasons. Otherwise repair companies will ream the hell out of you!!

Good Luck!!

Default 122!

Yikes - I remember it well. I was living in Ahwatukee at the time. They were stopping flights from taking off at Sky Harbor. Even my eyeballs felt hot when I went outside.

I played in a volleyball league back then. We played in the evening of that day and the temp was 118 still. It wasn't that bad as I recall. Humidity is only like 2-3% when it's that hot. 105 with 25% later in July is much harder to play in.

They sold t-shirts later that said "I took the heat. Phoenix 122, June 26, 1990". I never wore mine and still have it. I'm too fat for it now . Maybe that temp would bother me more today.

what i dont like about wickenburg though is that it gets hit hard by flooding. on the brighter side your right by beutiful lake pleasant, and you get a great monsoon season. also wickenburg is just as hot as phoenix. .
