Thumbs up Back to Yuma

Greetings all,

I'm looking at moving back to Yuma this fall. I was there from 2000 to 2005. I'm wondering if anything of importance has changed or happened there. When I left I was in a apartment. This time I'm looking to buy a house. What areas should be avoided, whats good, etc. Thanks for the help.

Brian

Hi Brian,

I don't think much has changed in the last few years except maybe a few new eateries and stores down at Yuma Palms. You probably know the worst areas to buy a house having lived here for five years. I live in a 35 year old neighborhood in the valley and have never had anything stolen or vandalized. In fact, other than being hit twice by uninsured motorist, we have not been victims of crime in the 15 years we have lived here. My buddy lives in a nice neighborhood (Falls Ranch) and has had the windows broken out his truck, two dozen eggs smashed on his boat, and a mountain bike stolen out of his backyard in the last couple years. It is hard to know what kind of neighbors you will end up with now matter where you buy.

Things haven't changed too much since 2005; housing is still incredibly overpriced just like everywhere else.
