Uh,Jetset, Have you been laying in the sun too much? Hosers are from Canada..Hoosiers are from Indiana. Did you get that one Einstein??? Duh!!! Now since you think it's great, good!! Stay there! Enjoy yourself. Get a nice glass of Yuma tap water and some Vermox, take an evening stroll along 4th avenue, maybe you will run into the type of person my forum is about. When the cops wont help you, then you will know what we are talking about here. Were not telling you not to enjoy yourself. Get a nickel bag down in Algadonez for all we care!! This is a forum for those of us who DONT like it there. Im giving my opinion which is my rights as an American. You have that right too. Start your own forum and maybe call it "I love Yuma" ( bleccchhh!!!!). Bluebelt, I like having you here. I hope you make it to Indiana. I had an Aunt and Uncle who lived there who I visited as a kid. Its a nice place. Maybe monsterjobs.com could give you pointers on jobs there. Chambers of Commerce can send classifieds if you call them and ask for them to mail you a copy. Let me know how it goes.

I will be leaving for Iowa tomorrow until May 2
. I cant wait to a see my friends and my dad, yay!!! I will be gack to this site as soon as I get back from my trip. I hope you get some good news by then. Good luck! It would be nice if you could get out of there before hot season really sets in. I feel really bad for you. Been there done that didnt like it. That place makes so many promises to people just to lure them in. And I can imagine what it was like to have to hide in the bathroom, and dealing with cops who only care about traffic violations. Im sorry you had to deal with all that too. Take Care and I will be on this site May 2 or so. |

Thanks. I will definitely let you know. I have been on Monster and Careerbuilder everyday because I definitely don't want to stay here.[/quote] Also check USAJOBS.gov and I would also look at the employment departments of where you want to go. I found a job on the Oregon state employment site before I left Yuma. Terra Nova... that's awful what happened to you. However, it could happen in many places. Granted, the police would have treated it differently elsewhere, and it doesn't detract from the fact that, indeed, Yuma is a sewer. One of the best days of my life was the day I got on Interstate 8 west for the last time. |

I am a little crazy from the heat....but it's kept me from going insane. I apologize if my "Hooser" post offended you. For some reason I always attempt to inject humor when things tend towards the doom and gloom. I truly am sorry about what happened to you. No women, or person for that matter, deserves to be violated.
As for me starting an "I Love Yuma" thread..... highly unlikely. I love life. As long as it's not cold/snowy and within a days drive of a lake or river, I'd be happy anywhere. ![]() |

Good luck finding a teaching job in Indiana. What you might not know at this point is the state is having a CRISIS with funding teachers. In my district, over 30 teachers have been laid off (RIF); 10 at just my school alone! I am a HS teacher who has taught for four years in Indiana (Bloomington). It was a fun place to live as a college student, but now it's boring as heck. I'm moving to AZ to teach in Phoenix. Won't miss the winters at all...and am looking forward to sweating in the sun this summer when I move out. What do you teach? |
