Speaking of coyotes. Last night we had one that was looking for his/her friends right on the other side of our wall. Boy, was it loud. I am thinking that it found our neighbors lost cat.

all I know is what the guy told me. Maybe I would have to see it scale a 20 foot wall, but I do know that they jump those walls and kill pets that were left out in the evening time here where I live. I once saw a pack chasing a medium size dog on the golf course behind my house that had inadvertently gotten out, the dog's owner was screaming, the dog was running, needless to say, it was an awful thing to witness. If you love your pets, you won't leave them out at night.
Another truth, before I moved here, my neighbor told me she was walking her small dog on a leash at 2pm down the street when a coyote came from nowhere and grabbed her dog, when she started screaming and pulling on the leash, it let go. But the dog had puncture wounds in it's neck and had to be put down. |

On one of my stays in the Phoenix area, I witnessed a dog wandering the streets all bloody and mangled. I tried to get closer to help him but then I remembered a Vet friend of mine who said an injured dog can bite, so I kept an eye on him while I spoke to some of the local people in the immediate area asking them to call animal control (as I didn't have my cell with me). Everyone was so disinterested in calling or helping this poor dog and just dismissed it as "another Coyote attack on a dog" issue. ![]() |

I am in Fountain Hills where there are packs and packs of coyotes. Killing every night--it is a horrible sound. I have 2 golden retrievers and when I let them out at night to do their duty, I go out in the back yard with them, they do it and right back in they come. I love them too much to lose them to a wild animal.

Just saw on the Chicago news that they found a den of coyote puppies, so I guess we aren't the only ones with problems.

![]() Steve Dale's Pet World - Robin Meets Wile E. Coyote in Downtown Chicago Ive seen so many coyotes in Chicago's western burbs that I couldnt even begin to count them. I see them on a nightly basis sometimes, and almost always hear them. Ive got a short little video I made of some howling, Ill have to dig it up, its freaky sounding. There must have been a dozen just off in the distance, howling for hours that night. You can always tell when they nab the rabbits, those scream like little girls, its incredibly freaky sounding. ![]() |
