Default Yuma, AZ Information

Hello Everyone!

My husband received orders to MCAS Yuma, and we will be moving there this summer. I have done research on the web, but I would like some personal opinions on Yuma.

We will be living out in town. So, what areas are best for families? I was looking at the Foothills. I would like to live in an average middle class neighbor. What schools are best (elementary, middle, and high schools)? Academically and in sports?

I won't mind the weather. We have been stationed in 29 Palms, so I have a good idea about the summer heat. The snowbirds don't bother me either. Are there any other complaints about the city?

Does anyone know of a reputable realtor who could help me find a good rental? Are there community pools?

Thanks!

Hello,

We lived there for 3 years and are military so I can try to help answer your q's.

The foothills in my opinion is the best place to live. Awesome for familes. Our son went to Sunrise Elem and we LOVED it!!! We only have littles ones so I can't help with a junior high or high school.

You can check you some rentals at :
Yuma, Arizona - Yuma Homes and Real Estate for Sale at ERAyuma.com
MilitarybyOwner.com - Real Estate near U.S. Military Bases
CinCHouse - Home

I would sugest renting with a pool. Also, homes are still pretty cheap compared to rest of the US so I don't know if buying is an option or not.

Good luck on your move!
