Exclamation 800 small dogs removed from Arizona mobile home

OMG! I know this story is from last month, but...wow!

800 small dogs removed from Arizona mobile home

"Some dogs were giving birth as they were taken to shelters in Tucson, said Jenny Rose, a spokeswoman for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Ninety-six dogs were taken away Monday and 700 more on Wednesday, she said."

Just a little late, FireKwame . . . but it actually happened about 30 minutes outside of Tucson.

On a positive note . . . people were lined up for hours waiting to adopt these poor dogs. From the reports I have read, all of the healthy dogs were immediately released to good homes for a better life.

I sure hope these greedy breeders are prosecuted to the fullest extent including slammer time.

People such as this are not "breeders", they are "Hoarders"...it's literally a mental condition, and it occurs far more often than people know about. This was a very extreme case but we had ione nearly as bad up near Ash Fork a couple of years ago...dogs, cats, you-name it...many already dead, many sick. Just awful. The "owner" was prosecuted and now she is trying to sue for defammation of character.

I would definitely agree, Esselcue . . . however, in this particular case, these people were actively selling these dogs for a hefty 2000 plus bucks.

Referring to them as "hoarders" or "breeders" is rather irrelevant considering they had more than 800 dogs plus other animals (birds and cats) in a home with less than 2000 sq ft in area.

Bottom line . . . they need to be prosecuted!

Thumbs up Yes, I agree totally!

Oh I absolutely agree with you!!!!! Wasn't trying to minimize the case. The Ash Fork couple also "sold & bred" their animals. It's criminal in every possible way! The problem arises when well-meaning mental-health workers (and not-so-well-meaning lawyers) step in and attempt to mitigate the circumstances. Very sad. As I wrote above, the Ash Fork (Juniper Woods) lady involved is now saying she was unjustly arrested and charged (which she was...arrested and charged, I mean) and is trying to sue the world.
