Default possible move to Flagstaff with young kids

My husband is considering a position at NAU. I have a 4 and yr old. Any info. regarding public or Montessori schools/recreation/sports for kids and housing (I know it is $$'ive) would be very helpful. Also wondering about shopping in the area...groceries/natural foods, clothing that sort of thing. Thanks.

Flagstaff is a good-sized town...all the shopping, medical, etc you could ever need. It has its good points and its bad and you will have all sorts of opinions thrown at you.,..but for your direct question about shopping and such, I can honestly say there is every thing you could want. As for the Montessori Schools...I am very sure there is at least one because I recall seeing it...but not sure where. Google "Montessori Flagstaff AZ" and see what comes up

We left there 13 years ago so I don't know if Twin Peaks Montessori is still there, but if it is and is still owned by Patty Griffiths (maybe Griffin?)...it's a very good one. My daughter attended it and we loved it.

lots of Montessori schools here. prolific in fact. maybe 8 or 9....Advice: don't move here with a job that will pay under 50k. Minimum.

Douglas Fuller is on a distinguished road
Within the city limits of Flagstaff there are currently 39 single family homes for sale under $300,000. Eight of those homes are pending taking back-up offers. In addition there are townhomes and condos under $300,000. If you are willing to live outside of the city of Flagstaff you can find some nice homes in Kachina Village under $300,000. Kachina Village is 5 miles south of Flagstaff. You can also find some homes under $300,000 to the east of Flagsaff... a few miles out of town. Most of these homes site on an acre or more of land. Some of the area east of Flagstaff can be VERY windy! I hope this info is helpful.
