Yes, Greenehaven is one of the local communities. It is a developing area and there are numerous Lake Powell View Lots for sale there. Greenehaven sits 1 mile into the AZ side of Lake Powell. Further out from Page and over the Utah border are in order ~ Big Water (pop about 425)(16 miles from Page) Church Wells (pop about 150), Clark Bench then Paria. Paria is about half way between Page, AZ and Kanab, UT or roughly 35 miles from Page.

Between Church Wells and Clark Bench there is a development ready for homes, but with none built as of yet, called Powell Springs. Down the road it's going to be an exclusive area with CC&R's and a HOA.

Cheers!

Don't overlook living in Greenehaven, a private development just north of Page. Fabulous views of Lake Powell and surrounding mesas, etc.
Re Page: 2.5 hrs to Flagstaff and ditto to St. George; both of which are good for serious shopping and medical care. Page has decent local hosp/med. care and a Super Wal-Mart on out-skirts, with numerous businesses in town, including Basha's and Safeway and good eating.
Lots of good tourism which feeds the economy. (Town is located in/among hub of fabulous natural sites...Grand Canyon, National Parks in UT, etc.)
Local schools are probably as good as any small town.
Very 'church-y' town but I've seldom met anyone in Page who wasn't pleasant.
Happy hunting.

Page is a nice small City and was rated in the top 10 small cities to live a couple of years ago. It has all the advantages and disadvantages of a small City. Page is arguably to most remote City in the country. That being said, you can get most of what is not available in town on the internet. There are decent doctors and dentists and a super wal-mart -- and then there is Lake Powell and a great airport rated AZ airport of the year in 2005. As is anywhere you live it is pretty much what you make of it - get involved with the various activities, churches and or local Poletics. If you like small town living it is just fine. Winters are mild and summers about like the Santa Ynez or San Fernando valleys. My kids and grandkids on the Central Coast are only 3 1/2 hours or so away via my C182 -- Life is good.
