Check Craigslist/Mohave Co for apartments. I see there are some in Lake Havasu and Bullhead City in that price range. I think Kingman might have more options. You might also look at Tucson. Good Luck.

If you tell us your work situation, you will get better advice. A friends mom has a detached studio in her backyard in Nogales, walkable to everything. She was getting 250 per month including utils and wiifi. There was a deputy living next door.. But... Unemployment has been a problem down there for decades. Usually, there are jobs at Pizza Hut and Auto Zone, but if you can't speak decent Spanish, you will have a tougher time with employment, but if only living there, almost no problems. Electric bills are murder in BHC, but that was a decent rec and there are many more service jobs there.

If you plan on living in an apartment for 700 a month in Arizona, I sure hope you have a clear plan to defend yourself and your property.

Tucson is no longer affordable for apartments. Just moved my son out of his one bedroom in NW Tucson and he was paying about $875 for an average place. All the other complexes in the area were at least $100 a month more.

What I've seen is many of the decent, not bad/not great apartments for your average working stiff have been bought out in the past couple of years. Once the apartment complex gets bought, the new owners give it a quick remodel and bump up the rent $200 a month.

My son is on SSI disability, so I kept tabs on the rental market in NW Tucson to make sure he was in the most affordable place that I felt comfortable letting him live in.

My bet is buying a single wide on land. The mortgage is less....

It's been 10 years since you could find a decent place to live in a not so dangerous area for that much money.

Cordes Junction/Cordes Lakes usually has some cheaper housing and a few service jobs since Family Dollar, Dollar General, McDonalds and Loves are there. The realtor there used to have rent to owns or do owner financing.
