Default What about Williams?

Can I get input on Williams, Arizona? I have heard how much Flagstaff has grown and is now very expensive but what about Williams as far as cost of living and employment?

Williams is a lovely area...a small, quaint town...probably not a lot of employment outside of service jobs, though. Cost of living is probably not much different from Flagstaff but I can't comment on that with any assurance...be forewarned that Williams has some water problems and many residents must have water trucked in, or extremely deep wells.

Yeah, what the above post says. Lovely area, small town, limited services in terms of "big city" expectations, probably a fair amount of snow during the winter, very nice weather in the summer.

I've visited Williams perhaps 20-30 times in the last 15 years since it's my traditional first stop on my Los Angeles to Arizona to Utah and back to Los Angeles camping vacation loop. I always camp near Williams my first night of the trip. It's too small for me to want to live there but I like it otherwise.

And of course if you have kids, it's a magical place at Christmastime as the "Polar Express" leaves from Williams and they do a great job with that, and with all the xmas decorations in the area.
