Sun Valley (Flagstaff, Holbrook: for sale, insurance, crime)

During our vacation last July, my husband and I wanted to drive Route 66. We picked it up in Holbrook, which was a nice area. We have found lots of land for sale in Sun Valley, which is supposed to be only 6 miles from Holbrook, near the Petrified Forest. Does anyone know the statistics like weather, jobs, crime etc. We're planning another vacation in May and would like to visit places where we might want to buy land. The New England winters are the pits!!!!! We're not retirement age yet, so we need jobs that have benefits, like insurance. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

I bought a small parcel of land in Sun Valley as an investment. The area is not well-populated at this time but I have heard development is coming along the I-40 in the next 10 years. I think employment with good benefits is scarce unless you work for the City of Holbrook or a bank like Wells Fargo. The closest "large" city is Flagstaff.
