We are looking to relocate and have lived in Calif and Nevada. We have a business of very nice custom painting and specialty finishes. Where would be the best area to find customers for such services? We are in San Diego and sooo tired of the San Diego attitudes. We love the small town life and seasons. We know hot, we have lived in Palm Springs and we know cold, lived and raised in Lake Tahoe. Anything in between weather wise and can make a living? Thanks ahead for responses

Hello jaysue!
I think you would really like it up here in Prescott. Population about 35,000--if you include Prescott Valley and Chino Valley, the population is about 75,000. A nice sense of community here. In the summers there's always arts/crafts/concerts at "courthouse square". Four seasons without the extremes. An occasional snow that melts within the day in the winter, and summer temps in the upper 80's, low 90's with nights in the low 60's. Wide variety of topography, from the pines/boulders to the west to grassland and high desert to the east. My son did painting for awhile--but has been doing tile the past couple of years. There are new homes up here, some new-home subdiviisions, quite a few spec homes being built and several custom builders. I know of a couple of painting contractors that are really good. Just let me know if you'd like their names. |

Oops! Forgot to mention the elevation is 5,000 ft. It's part of the reason we have such nice 4-season weather.

You may also want to check into the Bullhead City, Arizona/Laughlin, Nevada area. We are on the border of Arziona, Nevada and California (Needles). It's very hot here in the summer, and very pleasant winters. Even though the market is pretty slow everywhere, there is ALWAYS new homes and new home subdivisions going up in Bullhead City as well as Laughlin. In case you are not familiar with this area, we have 10 casinos, the Colorado River and Lake Mohave for all of your entertainment!
If you would like to check out real estate go to http://www.bullheadrealtors.com/search_mls.htm (broken link) This is a great site for our mls. Hey, we're moving to Texas (change of scenery and closer to family) and we will have a 4bd house for sale in a couple of months if intrested...lol If you have any questions feel free to ask! |
