i also have to say- i moved here with the advice of someone who told me and i quote " if i were homeless i would live in yuma because the fruit is falling off the trees and the weather is beautiful its only hot 3 months out of the year." yeah bs, when i got here i couldnt breath it was so hot, never cools down at night i remember that year it was 110 at 11 at night! unemployment was so high, no one would hire us so my husband had to get a job at labor ready and he wasnt use to the heat so he got heat sick and couldnt work. when we did get jobs the pay is the lowest i have seen, we came from northern nevada and i thought pay was bad there omg its awful here! and i have never seen so many trailors! people dont live in houses here its all about the mobil home. i am exagerating here some live in houses but mostly mobil homes. and the snowbirds are so rude, they cant drive cant even drive a shopping cart they will run you down, they dont tip, they clog up the roads at all hours of the day driving at 25 mph not caring if others have lives and jobs to get to, they go the store at 5 pm to hold up the lines for at least 45 mins and forget going down 16th street to go to the movies or shop or even eat somewhere its a huge line and at least a 2 hour wait to get into a restuarant. yeah its bad here. i could go on and on but at least now you have a little better description of yuma now. even people in other towns in az dont like yuma lol

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be negative but it does suck here. I guess if you were into quads you would like it, but other wise no thank you...

MAB. one thing I do agree with you is that if your into quads Yuma would be really fun. Our whole block we have families that own weekend homes here and come out to quad in the desert....but I'm not a quader

How old are you? In my opnion Yuma seems really lifeless and dull to th younger folk! Just my opinion though.

Im 32.
People younger than me,who ive talk to,dont seem to get bored like you said.
My younger brother is 16,he just moved here from san diego and likes it here.
Hes in Yuma high and played football with the crims this past season.BTW the were city and regional champs.
Hes also active in his church and just bought a 4X4 truck(just like me) to go off roading with his buddies.
In my nehiborhood I have people who are into hunting, some are into boating, some are into 4 wheeling some into horse riding and some into sports.

I also ocassionally go to Mexico to buy some groceries and to go eat some AWESOME chinese food.
Or sometimes Ill go to glamis with some coworkers some are as young as 20 Y/O.

So,yes thank you.Ill keep Yuma.

"Im 32.

The biggest complaint I hear from people on their 20's is that there is no night life here. It's like you can goto Jummy D's or Crazy Earls....

Thats something I like about here.
Hardly any night life,so very few drunks driving around fridays and saturdays at night.
I agree with you,want night life,move to SD,Phoenix or LA.Or better yet,Las Vegas.
Want a good place to raise your kids, thats quiet and relatively low crime?
I do.
In case you havent noticed,Yuma is a small town. Most small towns have very little,or no night life.

Go to Temecula,CA and tell me it has great night life.
or,Killeen TX,or Flaggstaff AZ or kingman or ely,NV.
they are all the same.

I am from New York. I have been in Arizona because of my husband's job with the airlines for almost 10 years. I have lived in Tucson, Phoenix and Mariocpa. I would go back to New York in a heart beat if I could. I am not so sure the problem is with Yuma. It's AZ in general. You have to be a certain kind of person to like it here. Head back if you can. I wish I could.
