What part of the US are the snowbirds coming from?
Do they come from the North east or is it primarily the Northwest?

Jaada be grateful for snowbirds for they power your economy. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem. All of the complaining you do on this forum about Yuma hasn't solved anything.

Agree Yuma Sucks!
I Grew Up In Yuma, I Really Enjoyed Growing Up There Would I Live There By Choice? No! There Are No Jobs, Absolutely No Jobs. I Was At My Job For Two Years With No Signs Of Advancement I Moved To A Different Az City And Now Make $6 More Per Hour At A Much Easier Job, Yuma Is A Great Place To Raise A Family But Not If You Want To Advance In Your Career Or In Your Life. Period. I Go Back And Visit, My Parents Live There, And Everytime I Am There I Cannot Wait To Leave, I Enjoy Spending Time With Friends But That Is About It. I Will Only Move Back When It Comes Time To Take Care Of My Parents.

MAB-
I am new to this forum, but I have to say, that after reading these posts, you are giving me hope regarding Yuma. Everyone else seems very negative. My husband is possibly accepting a job down there, so we of course will be moving. I am nervous about moving 2200 miles away, and when I read all of the bashing going on regarding Yuma, I honestly felt my stomach drop!lol. Anyway, thanks for helping to even the field, so to say.

I have a good friend who retired to Yuma a few years back and loves the place and the lifestyle. I know another who opened a business there and feels the same way. I've been to visit a few times and it seems like a nice enough city. Personally I wouldn't choose to retire there as it is not all that different from Phoenix from a retiree point of view, but it's a decent place to live and I would consider the source and take the bashers with a very large grain of salt.

Just curious, what might be giving you "hope regarding Yuma" after reading MAB's posts and how does it "even the field" for you? In what type of place are you interested in living and what idea do you feel you have about Yuma at this point?

i am sorry but they do nothing for me, yuma still thrives without snowbirds believe it or not we are still a thriving community without you all. there is no solution to snowbirds they will continue to come and disrespect the foothills and trash it and let their dogs crap all over the dessert, congest our roads, run over people in the stores with shopping carts, and lots of cause accidents making our car insurance the highest in az. but my point here is as i have said before is i dont want someone else making the mistake i did by not knowing what is in store for them when they get here. people need to know the whole truth, without making it sound like this place is a paradise. there are some good points i agree but lots of bad points.

Please tell me how in the hell snowbirds power the economy in Yuma, this palce is powered by the hard working middle class and lower class in Yuma, not SNOWBIRDS. Also this town seems to CATER to all the snowbirds that come from various location in the US and Canada, they do not get tickets for any car accidents that they are involve in because the police automatically assume that it wasn't the snowbirds fault. They can barely see and this town still lets them DRIVE, come on now - of all the car accidents that occur on a daily basis here in "wonderful" Yuma, a snowbird is always involved. The only solution here is to move out of Yuma and never coming back. I come from Canada and this has to be the worst townthat I have lived in since I came here in 2000.
