Hey there, man with no friends,
I am one of those retiring baby boomers who had moved to Florida 5 years ago and I am now preparing to leave it again. FL is beautiful but the problems it does have are becoming a little too much for me, so it will be good bye FL for me soon. Now I really don't want to fall for some pretty postcard town with a lot of hidden problems. There is no doubt about it, Sedona has the looks and much more I am sure, but what is the down side. Asking a realtor that question would be oh well ... you know what I mean. My question is, ho much of a nuisance is the tourist traffic in the summer time. How is Golf in Sedona? What are the most notorious problems which you had discovered after you moved there, and, would you move there again?
Thanks for any input.

We made the move from Florida a year ago and we really love it here. Is it perfect? No.....but it really does have a lot to offer. 2.5 hours from the Grand Canyon (5 to the North Rim). 5.5 hours to Zion. 7.5 to the West Coast and a lot more even closer. Sedona is surrounded by National Forest so if you like the outdoors, like to hike etc it is paradise! It is isolated.....15 miles (30 if you go through Cottonwood) to the interstate and two hours to Phoenix. It does attract a lot of tourists but after you have been here awhile you know how to avoid the busy areas and times. Because we have a lot of visitors we have services etc. that you would not expect in a town the size of Sedona. We have some great restaurants and better grocery stores than you would expect in a town of a little more than 10,000. Good luck with your decision.

Medical care= Cottonwood

major/serious = PHX, although cottonwood has a new heart center

Motels/Hotels = If it's cheap in Sedona don't bother, Cotonwood is your best bet maybe try Camp verde as well.

HOUSES, Try Verde Sante Fe (golf course between cottonwood and Sedona) 300k will get you a nice home there.

We lived in sedona for 4 yrs then moved to cottonwood 9 yrs ago, Wife got tired of driving from sedona to go shoping all the time, We like the verde village area on the verde river,it's very green lots of trees and very quit.
good luck hope this helped.
