Up here in the White Mountains, there is the White Mountain Gem & Mineral Club. They meets 1st Tuesday, 6:30pm at RT's Black Bull Restaurant.

Have you checked out the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum downtown? There's a lot of rockhounds hanging out there, as well as some very cool displays. I'm sure some people there could point you in the right direction.
