Looking for places in the area for people, places, and groups. I'm from Washington originally, and we had alot of places we could go. I haven't found a whole heck of alot down here. You'd think there would be alot, considering how many precious stones you can find down here.

There are hundreds of old mines in Az that have ore dumps you can pick in, just stay out of the mines for the obvious reasons. Here is a link to mines in Yavapai county.

Wish I had the exact name for you but I know that they always have a BIG booth at the Yavapai County fair...Yavapai County Rock & Mineral Club? Something like that. I work for the Sheriff's Office and their booth is always right across from ours.

I think I found them - Prescott gem and mineral club
