To the OP, I have a little yippy dog. When he starts barking I immediately take him in. Next door neighbors have two German Shepards and same deal. No dog barks for more than one or two minutes, max. My pets go to bed at 8:30 or 9:00 each night in the laundry room. 11:00 pm. is late at night to hear a dog barking. Maybe I am just anal, but I have this thing about quiet. Fortunately, my neighbors are on the same page and there hasn't been an issue. My advice is to not let your dogs out after 10 p.m and to take them in right away once they start barking. Good luck. And, yes, your neighbor sounds like a real piece of work too.

Looks like you're trying to work with your neighbor. Those bark collars work well. You have to pay attention, use the remote as soon as the dog barks. Our remote control lets out a beep, our dogs just need to hear that sound and they stop barking. If the neighbor rings your bell again, explain the dogs are getting used to their new surroundings. Keeping the dogs out till 11 pm is a bit late. Also some days the AZ sun gets too hot to leave the dogs outside. Make sure they have plenty of shade and water.

Again my issue was more with the fact the guy was coming to my door and making threats my first two night in my new home. My dogs were never barkers before and I was still making room in the house so I had them in the back yard. Honestly neither time did they bark for more the a couple minutes before I had them in the house but he didn't allow us anytime to adjust before he was threatening to call police. Since then the dogs have calmed down and we made room in the house for them. There is still barking at night but I know it's not my dogs. I just tend to think by his reaction to the dogs that this will not be the last time we have issues. I just thought I could get some advice on how to handle this type of neighbor.

Tell the neighbor that if he comes to your house again at 11:00 pm, you will call the police on him for disturbing your peace.
