Welcome!

Answering your first question, yes there is a LOT of new home construction down here. I've heard numbers anywhere between 60,000-80,000 new homes in the Phoenix area every year!

Answering your second question, yes there are good schools but not everywhere. Generally Mesa has lower rated schools than most other parts of the valley and Scottsdale has higher-rated schools. A private school is better than a public school and with that, the price increases greatly. What part are you looking to move to?

I agree with what SpeedyAZ says, you will be amazed at all the building going on. If your husband owns a drywall company and plans on working in that field he will be employed every single day!!!!

AZ is a very cut-throat and cheap work contractor place. Can he imagine putting up drywall in a house and having to come back 3 or 4 times to fix what the "throw-up" crew didn't get done correctly. If he wants to own a company here Spanish is a must!!

Good schools are hard to come by. In the West Valley try the Litchfield District. Can't get a decent house for under 400K tho.

Good luck..

East Valley Schools rate pretty high, Chandler, Gilbert and Kyrene districts.
