Yes - it's fast becoming known as "Nevadafornia."

Gun law differences - AZ anyone who can legally own a gun can carry it, openly or concealed without a concealed carry permit. Obtaining an AZ permit gives you some additional benefits on places you can carry.

Nevada no longer reciprocates with AZ for permits, so you also need an NV permit, which requires an 8 hour class. Handguns owned by residents of Clark county (Laughlin/Vegas) are required to REGISTER their guns with Metro PD.

As for living in Laughlin. It's about a 40 minute round trip to the market. There are only a couple of large apartment complexes. The town is cleaner, safer and quieter than Bullhead. Gas costs more. I think sales tax is like 9.95% not that there is much for locals to buy.

You do avoid the AZ income tax, though NV gets you with other taxes and fees, and the cost to commute unless you work for a casino, so it probably averages out about equal.

No mobile homes allowed I don't believe. Everything is site built, at least in the town proper. I don't know the specific law, if any.

Seems like Laughlin is Mini-Vegas and Bullhead City is Mini-Phoenix. Laughlin's got the entertainment, BHC's got the bigger population and stores. And both have the EXTREMELY hot summers and the warm winters.

Also, despite being right next to each other, their both actually in different time zones. So you could leave Laughlin for groceries in BHC at 11:20 and arrive at the marker at 12:30 and vice versa. But since AZ doesn't observe daylight savings time, this doesn't actually apply for 2/3rds of the year, but it's still a fun little tidbit about the 2 cities.

Have to concur with the BHC going downhill opinion. You can't even walk into the Circle K without being accosted by homeless looking for money. I am looking for a condo in Laughlin. Leaning toward one in Portifino. Any info welcome!

"Old" Bullhead by that Circle K across from the Irish Pub is, uh, "different". BHC is like Phoenix in that 1 part can be nasty but 3 blocks over it's Ok.

Different? LOL, it's the worst area and you are right if you go south to Safeway it's a different world.

I know what you mean since I live south of that Safeway. Tho parts of BHC by Hancock and Marina from Lakeside to just before the river are shaky too.

^^ Yeah, unfortunately I live in Riveria. It's a s***hole and I can't get out fast enough. There are way too many scumbags living here. The "nice" people live up on the hill. I tried to make a nice home and to clean up the area, but people just hate me for trying - and god forbid you complain about their pit bulls. I'm about to rent my house to a biker gang or maybe as a halfway house for violent sex offenders, and see how the neighbors like that. Heck both those demographics would probably be afraid to even live here - and they can afford better.

I have a good idea of what you're talking about.

The joke is in most places: look at the customers at the local Wal Mart; that'll tell a person if an area's good or bad. Not in BHC: our Wal Mart on the 95 is actually pretty nice even tho many of its customers look "shady", they usually ain't bad at all. Smiths; OTOH, at Hancock and Lakeside, it has a really scary looking group of customers who ARE scary IMHO

I went in there once and that was it. I only shop at Walmart and Safeway.
