I resent that remark and would hope admin takes appropriate steps.
Kingman is a great place to land, sure we have to travel for certain items. Kingman like all other areas as its issues and concerns.

I hope you have a really good reason that would make the move worth your while...such as inherited a NICE house and LOTS of money...
I guess, for some of us, we have lived here a long time therefore we would think anyone would have to be crazy to come here from Hawaii. However, I guess ifyou have lived in Hawaii for a long time, you could be bored with the scenery there (can't imagine why, but I guess possible). I live in Bullhead City, about 40 miles from Kingman. Quite honestly, I can't come up with one good reason why you would want to live in this area over Hawaii...like I said, unless you are being paid VERY WELL to make it worth your while!

If you were coming here to be with family, they would have already filled you in on pertinent info. If your move here is job-related then your employer should have given you some info, besides the fact that wages are lower here.
Perhaps you're an investor (Golden Valley?) and wish to keep an eye on your holdings. In any case, sounds as if the die is cast. Welcome, and we wish you well, although curious about the change. Most folks, even those who love the desert, as we do, would probably trade places with you.

Aloha which island are you trying to move from???
I'm trying to move from Oahu Honolulu to Flagstaff, Arizona area ASAP... I'm going to try 3 weeks out in Arizona/Las Vegas to make a decision exactly where to move.. The Northern Arizona University is in Flagstaff... I heard the buyers market is kind of high.. Renters market doesn't look to bad especially for a university area... Now what they look like in person is another story... I hear Flagstaff is the new and upcoming business district, if I did my research through the web correctly... A huge
Northern Arizona University Conference Center
At 7,000 feet, Flagstaff may not be the top of the world. But it sure feels like it. The Conference Center at Northern Arizona University, now under construction, is nestled in one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring spots in the world. Facilities will include a Grand Ballroom, with a capacity of 1,000 theater-style, or 800 banquet-style, which can be reconfigured into five smaller spaces, three conference rooms for smaller break-out sessions, a board room with occupancy of 100, and five additional meeting rooms at The Drury Hotel, accommodating 50-75 attendees each.
The hotel-conference center complex is a joint partnership among NAU, the city of Flagstaff, the Arizona Board of Regents and Drury Hotels. The conference center is expected to attract mid- size regional, national and international conferences. Consultants have estimated the economic benefit to northern Arizona to be about $7 million annually. For general information, visit Northern Arizona University Conference Center and Hotel in Flagstaff.
In Williams they're suppose to finish an amusement park in 2008
Kingman sounds like a good place to start away but still close... I haven't researched that area yet...
Keep in touch because I'm hoping to leave Honolulu soon.... Home is over rated and getting horrible in every aspect at least for me and my career and sanity... I'll be looking for moving companies and a used or new car out that way probably from Nevada... I wasn't expecting a snow vehicle but it looks like I am now due to my sight be on Flagstaff... I'm looking for a rental not buying..
Don't listen to the idiots that think the Hawaiian islands are great... There is more value and maturity and profitable growth in all aspects for an individual in or near Arizona... If you're looking for 24/7 party times jump to Nevada that resolves Hawaii no game and action it's pretty weak in Hawaii kind of embarrassing...
Good luck we'll both need it, for a major transition like that... It will be a spiritual awakening and a peace of mind I hope for both of us...
