Thinking of moving to Arizona(Maricopa/scottsdale)
I am thinking of moving to Arizona. I am looking for a nice area to live in. I have 2 kids and work as a RN. Any hospitals in these areas or do I have to travel to Phoenix? Any good places to live out there? How is the Scorpion problem?

The west side of the valley is where we settled. We are getting several new hospitals in the near future. Peoria (N.) is a nice, clean city. Surprise is close to Del Webb hospital and the homes and townhomes are affordable. Trend Homes has some nice townhomes for under $200. If you are renting, there are plenty of nicer apt buildings as well. It also is a very clean city with no shortage of new shopping spots. I am sure you will get lots of information on the east side from the other posters. If you choose to live close to Phoenix, then I would choose N. Phoenix to live. Live close to where you work. The traffic is horrible and my husband makes the two hour drive daily into Tempe. We are hoping soon that the west side attracts some larger firms. We have scorpions everywhere. We have been here for two years now and have found several on our back patio, but so far none have made it into the house (that we have seen). Best of luck to you.

There are several hosptials in Scottsdale and the surrounding area. We are big, so we have LOTS of hospitals. Do a search online to find them. Our big system is Banner.

I have lived in No Phoenix for 3 1/2 years and love it. Have never seen a scorpion on my property. Mayo Hospital is in No Phx and is, like all hosptials, looking for good RN's. Commuting just about anywhere from No Phx isn't to bad, except in winter when we have all the snow birds. Good luck to you and hope you enjoy AZ.

This thread is almost three years old, the original poster has been gone since a month after posting this thread. It helps to check the dates before you post... , as it's pretty easy to come up with an old thread if you follow the "similar thread" links at the bottom of a thread page.
