Default Payroll taxes

As a Canadian considering an inter-company job move to Arizona, I am trying to determine if my net pay will be more or less in the US. I have been to both the state and IRS websites and I am a little confused...okay, a lot confused! I am a married person with a non-working spouse. What category do I fall into? I found a chart listing the pay situations (ie. if your income is between this and that, you pay (x)...etc, but again, not sure if I would be classified as a single or how things work if you have a dependent spouse.

If anyone knows offhand the calculation used to determine net pay I would be very grateful to have it, or if you know about websites that clearly outline this info, that would be great too. At this point I'm not worried about add'l deductions for healthcare or 401Ks, just the basics.
