I'm planning on moving there myself after I graduate. I visit Douglas once a year so I only have a limited perspective of the place. However, I can tell you that the people are very freindly and down to earth. Every time I visit I make new friends that keep in touch. If you're tired of the big city hussle and bussel I think this small town atmosphere is right for you. Also, there is not very many clubs, so if you like the night life this is not the place for you. Where are you currently living?

It will be hot & dusty, it will be bi-lingual (Spanish), it is the home of a large prison complex...otherwise I have found the people of Douglas to be very friendly and it has pretty much all of what you need in a town. Not my personal cup of tea but I don't care for the border towns very much. Best bet is to check it out for yourself before relocating (in July, August, September)

I am relocating to Douglas this summer and I was wondering if anyone knew of any apartments in the area that allow pets. Also, does anyone know how far Sierra Vista is from Douglas? I have used Map Quest but it seems to tell me something different from what others have told me.

Apartments in Douglas-Avoid Rancho La Perilla
Management is very poor, maintenance is poor. They take 2 hour lunches or "out on business" breaks. It is a newer complex, but look elsewhere. Only 1 person on staff speaks fluent english. The only way this place survives is the wild hiring the Border Patrol is doing. Bisbee offers much more to do and beter quality living.
