Default "How Much is That Doggie in the Window"?

Dogs in the front seat. Dogs seemingly driving (on their owner's laps). Dogs in the back seat. Dogs in the back of the pick-up truck. If any of these drivers hit their breaks hard, those canines will soon become flying projectiles.

How about that "doggie in the window", or the one literally sticking its head OUT the window? My question on that is: If dogs hate for you to blow in their face, WHY do they stick their heads out the window at 65 mph?

My main question is: Ain't there a law in Arizona to protect these poor animals from their seemingly loving and well-meaning owner-drivers?

Dogs can travel in the beds of pick-up trucks as long as they are restrained......Though I have NEVER seen a dog tethered like that. I hate seeing dogs bouncing around in the back of a truck!

I will admit that my dog rides in the backseat with his head sticking out the window. (The window only rolls halfway down, and hes a 115 lb rottie, so I dont think hes gonna fall out)

Heck, ZonyPony, how many times have you seen adults riding the in open bed of a pick-up . . . even worse, frequently young kids?

I understand your concern for the dogs but what about the young kids?

Here in TN dogs ride in the back of pickup trucks all the time, although I think we do have a law against it. One guy in our neighborhood has 2 dogs that stand on top of the truck toolbox, unrestrained. Talk about dangerous! My dog rides in the back seat of my car, windows rolled up, and he has a doggie seat belt that is made of the same material and is the same strength as human seatbelts. It has saved his butt a few times when we've had some close calls and had to make sudden stops.

Let's see - a guy in our neighborhood rides his dog around on his motorcycle . . . but I can tell he's safety conscious . . . the dog wears a helmet.

The best doggie ride I've seen was a guy in Black Canyon City - he was riding his ATV with a case of beer on the front and his dog on the back . . . or was it the other way around? Only in BCC.

The reason dogs don't like people blowing in their face is peoples 'bad breath'..out the window is fresh air.
