The Local Havasu paper has a blog/comment section. There are many people on there
complaining about the Havasu cops. I have not read all the comments yet..
and who knows really why they get on there to complain, and some most
likely deserved the tickets and/or hastle from the cops... but there must be
something wrong going on with the cops and courts in LHC for all these people
to keep cropping up on different blogs and forums complaining??? All the forums,
sites, and blogs that I have seen about LHC all end up in complaints about the
LHC PD... so can all the people complaining be wrong? I do not know.. never been
there yet.

Points well taken.

I lived in LHC for 1.5 years and was never stopped by the police.

Remember that Havasu has more than its share of stupid party animals (mostly outsiders) with their 'you owe me' mentality who do whine when caught/punished.

I've lived here full time for several years. Prior to being a full time resident I came her frequently with out of state plates and boat registration. I also had/have many friends that visit here frequently. We have never had a problem with the local police. I read the comment section in the paper daily and don't see that many complaints. What do you consider many? Some of the complaints may be justified but I think there are a few people like that just like to complain for one reason or another. No town is perfect and no police department is perfect.. nor are the people living and or visiting towns.

In Lake Havasu the lake has several police agencies patrolling it with departments from both Az and Calif. The local police only patrol the channel. I would suggest you visit and then post your own experience, be it good or bad.

You reminded me of something: the heavy police presence is indeed along the River/Lake............the 'mountain' side of LHC Ave (one block up from Hwy 95) is mostly inhabited by the locals with the obvious exception of McCulloch Blvd up to about Acoma (Smith' Supermarket).

Lake Havasu has announced today it will add a $100 surcharge to all tickets issued in the city court. The same meeting, after a closed door session with the corrupt city magistrate who was recently reprimanded by the state supreme court for being unfair to defendants, the city magistrates contract was renewed. HMMMM anyone see a connection. Oh and the $100 goes to the general fund of the city. Anyone see a connection! Got some corruption going on!! Avoid Havasu!

And; judging my your nic, you live in south LHC so you would know what is going on.

Side note: despite its slightly sketchy name; Bullhead City has the rep of being the cleanest town in Mohave County concerning corruption or the lack thereof.

Default WoW

Wow!!!!!!

You mean if we got that ridiculous excessive wake ticket now.....it would be 285 bucks!!!!

Havasu is being penny wise and pound foolish. For every dollar they take in this way.......they will chase away hundreds more.

We are about to head out for our annual Presidents Day road trip. I bet we have headed to Arizona for at least 18 of the past 20 years. But since the State of Arizona is allowing this to get worse instead of forcing the City of Havasu to clean up its act. We will not be going to AZ this year.

It's reminds me of the time our son and his friend were served hamburgers that had big moldy spots on the buns. We had been going to this restaurant on a regular basis for years and we knew that the food had always been good before. It's been about 10 years since we've been there and we still can't stomach the place. Not because of the food......but because of the way the management handled the problem.

These are depressing times and I just wont risk my much needed holiday by going to a place where I have a high risk of being treated badly.

Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water. One lake tickets you for voilating a "no wake zone" so you will not be coming to AZ this year. Did you pay the ticket?
