Hello
I will be moving to AZ next month. I heard that one has to have a job before they can legally move to AZ? This cant possibly be true..RIGHT? I will be moving to the BHC/ Kingman area with daughter and hubby. Is it reasonable to expect to find a decent job there? I have heard that there are a lot of jobs in AZ and the economy is decent?
Please rspond ASAP as i will be moving there next month! I have researched AZ for the past 6 mnths and thought it sounded like a great move. now Im getting cold feet because of all the naysayers! So if you have any advice, PLEASE let me know!
Thanks in advance.

Where did you hear that? Of course you do not have to have a job before moving to Arizona! However...it is usually wise to have a job lined up before moving anywhere, or at least have six months worth of money saved up because it can take a while to find work. Bull Head City and Kingman are both desert areas, have you visited in the heat of summer? Kingman probably has more work than BHC and is growing, with some nice housing areas now and plenty of shopping, etc. The economy is better than some states, worse than others, I suppose. Arizona has some great places for a family and is a good choice for those who do not mind the temps...but as I say to everyone who is contemplating a move: Go there and study it first hand before you do anything.

Good luck!

Maybe you are confusing Arizona's "right to work" laws as having to have a job. No, you don't have to have a job to move here. Right to work, I think, pertains to the employer can hire/fire at their distinction. In other words, "lucky I'm hiring you pal" type of mindset. Arizona has alot of diversity and great winter weather. Economy probably better than other states, although lots of foreclosures here.

Never listen to the negomeisters. There is NO such legal wording currently showing in the Arizona Revised Statutes.

In reality, one is allowed to slack off as long as possible before needing to enter the world as a full-blown serious working citizen in the Arizona community. The official wake up call may be when your RENT and UTILITIES are due!

"RIght to work" means one can not be forced to join a union as a condition of employment - nothing more, nothing less.

HECK, WAreaz . . . if that were the case Arizona would not have half the traffic and growth problems we have now.

Thanks everyone! I thought that was strange but wanted to clarify with the locals! I will be coming with my life savings and hope to not have an issue finding employment. I have years working for the state here, figured it was time to follow my dreams when budget cuts were announced. One more ?: Im finding people wont rent to me without a job and people hire me without a house yet(I want to get a job b4 moving next month)ANY SUGGESTIONS?
