Default arizonia - the perfect city to move to ????

Hi,
We are thinking about moving to Arizonia and I am looking for a city with the following items:
1. Low crime rate
2. lower population 100,000-200,000 people
3. Lakes nearby for boating we love to go boating
4. able to find jobs and work
5. year round warm weather do not mind hot weather in the summer, I can live with that !
Someone help me, our family wants us to move to Phoenix ( to Queen Creek) but I am not sure if I want to live in a big city.
We now live in a area which is 150,000 people and low crime and like it just do not like the weather I am sick of 10 months of winter.

Hmmm... when you stated: arizonia - the perfect city to move to ???? - it sounded like you had some inside news about a new city named Arizonia!

Since there ain't one, I'm sure you meant the state of Arizona. However, Arizonia wouldn't be a bad name for a new incorporated city - somewhere...

Bear with me, now... I'm on a roll here... omigosh, this could be its very own thread...

Perhaps we should change the name of one of the current cities or towns which has a weird name, and use Arizonia... but, which one?

Hmmm... How about Cornville?

Or Why?

Or Dudleyville?

Or Pirtleville?

Anyway... about your question... I believe there may be a few towns and cities around Arizona like that, but I know it all depends on your stated needs... however, I'm not as qualified as others on this forum to give you THAT info. Sorry!

Hang in there, now! GREAT name - Arizonia!

If you don't want to live in a big city then the only city that comes close is Yuma which I think is around 100K these days. Otherwise, every city in that range is a suburb of Phoenix and suburbs of Phoenix are attached suburbs aka sprawl. Living in Queen Creek is a real challenge if you need to work. There are no jobs there and you will spend many of your waking hours commuting to where the jobs are. QC has little going for it except low prices and I guess that is why so many people ask about it. If I were you, I'd consider northEast Mesa, Anthem or north Peoria for the lake access. These places are all nice, low crime. With the housing collapse you can get a smoking deal on a foreclosure that is priced under the historical trend and will be worth much more one of these days. In QC, you can get a cheap foreclosure that is probably priced about where it is truly valued and will not appreciate much. Pay more, get more.

How about Lake Havasu? Our population is around 60,000 but the job market isnt the best. You can find one just not a good paying one. We have a lake warm or hot weather. Prices of a house have come down. Its a great place to live. My Home

How about Apache Junction, east of the Mesa/Tempe area and not a bad commute to these towns. There are a couple of lakes east of town and the nearby Superstition Mountains for hiking. Sunny weather year round.
