Default Going to AZ mid October!

Hey people, you may remember me from a thread I made a long time ago about wanting to move to Phoenix. But after lots of research, I figured that it wouldn't be a good idea, unless I made around $13 an hour, and worked full time until I established residency then resumed school. So, it seems like it's pretty much out of the question, though I had my heart set on going there and going to ASU. I think I'll always have that yearning.

ANYWAYS!

My best friend and I are going down to AZ mid October to go visit her dad in Avondale. We'll be in the Phoenix area most of the time, but we will take a day/overnight trip down to Tucson and down to Mexico I believe.

I'm 19, and I'm a guy. We'll all be doing stuff together, but what will appeal to me most over there? He's been there for a few months already, but some suggestions from all you people that live there, what's there to do!?

I CANT WAIT TO VISIT AZ!!!

If you get as far as Tucson, go on east a ways to Tombstone...just 'cause it's fun October is a beautiful time in the southwest, southern or northern AZ. You didn't state what you enjoy doing...outdoors or indoors or clubbing or...? There is SO MUCH to see and do in AZ the list would be quite lengthy. Let your friend suggest, he probably knows your likes and dislikes, eh? If you go across the Mexican border, please be very careful

Actually, we are planning to go to Tombstone! Haha, I'm actually very excited to go there!
Here in MN, I don't really enjoy much of the outdoors here in MN because I don't have an ATV, or dirtbike, or anything like that. I would enjoy the outdoors more if I had stuff like that. Hiking wasn't much of an option because, well, there's always ticks in the woods and stuff like that. Not a fan of that. I'm sure it's different in AZ, at least I'm hoping. I'd really love to get into that stuff if I lived down there. But I doubt we'll have much time to do any outdoorsy things while I'm there. We'll only be there for 6 days.
I'm just thinking, are there any notable things that I'm gonna have to see in Phoenix for my first time there? Something that me, my best friend, and her dad are gonna see and do that's enjoyable for all of us?

be sure to do Kachner cave~ can't think of a better thing. But take hiking boots if you want to do much hiking~ tis still rattlesnake season~ and always carry water~ wasy to get dehydrated in the low humidity for those that aren't used to it!

Yes, Kartchner Caverns is a must IF you plan ahead. I think you may need reservations. It's incredibly beautiful. Phoenix and the surrounding areas are big city locals with typical big city entertainment: museums, gardens, etc. I actually live in northern AZ and so could give you much more info if you were coming up in this area. Have to rely on a Phoenix native to fill you in Have fun!!!

I wish I was spending (at least) two weeks in AZ so I could go all around, but with classes, it's impossible, and I've already taken enough time off of work, haha. I'd love to go to the northern part of AZ. I'd love to see Flagstaff, Prescott, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Page, and I'd love to go out west more and see Yuma, Lake Havasu, etc.

But I'm excited nevertheless to be able to be there in October! I checked out the website for the caverns, and that's AWESOME, so are there any other awesome places?

Just saw this thread, I know you said time would be an issue but if you want a quick hike that isn't too hard and has beautiful scenery consider Seven Falls in Sabino Canyon. If you head out early you'll be done by mid morning or lunch at the very latest.

Maybe Old Tucson Studios?

Thanks for the reply michael! That all sounds like fun as well!

What can I expect for highs and lows in weather in Phoenix during that time?

acrylic:

It's too bad your not more central. If you can put up with people, including management, you could make 10/hr - 13/hr in a call center as a starting wage. Logitech and Apple have call centers out here.
