Funny how a thread that's been dead for over 3 months gets bumped by someone's first post. At least you could have searched for and bumped one of the "boycott" threads.

Funny that you say that:
20 years ago Havasu was indeed a neat place: lost of shopping for a town its size, good customer service, neat people, etc. whereas Kingman (thinking back on it) had a severe inferiority complex.
Fast forward to 2009: Kingman has really come into its own as in being more 'cosmopolitan' whereas LHC lost a lot of its sparkle IMHO.

Havasu is trying to recover, The new mall North of town is coming along nicely but has several empty retail spaces.
The one thing I looked for the other day was a coffee shop but there is not one that I could find.
You can shop and see a movie all in the same complex. not that is a new concept but it is in Mohave county.

I believe there is a coffeehouse S of London Bridge/McCulloch Blvd. in the Basha's shopping center.
Hindsight being 20/20: the regional mall should have been built where I 40 and SB Hwy 93 meet; that location would be about equidistant between BHC, Kingman and LHC.

Several? In fact, it's mostly empty, isn't it? We were there on Saturday. There has to be at least 50 empty stores. I can't imagine they'll ever fill it in this economy. We were in JC Penny, and that's a big store and we walked all through it. We didn't see a single worker on the floor until we got to the checkout registers. Not a single worker on floor, I swear. It was freaky.

Here is one thing wrong with LHC...
Are these people CRAZY!
a condo... not a home with some land.. a condo, listed
at 1.8 million! Not on the water.. they really do not have any
private property that butts the water (lake or river). There are
condo's and mobiles on the island, some boat slips and such.
But the gov came in and gobbled up any lake/river frontage.
I can't even imagine forking over nearly 2 million for a CONDO.. lol!

That stated: one can pick up a nice single family home for under $200K in even southside LHC I bet.
