And there are about 4 or 5 Black folks in town and 6 or 7 Asian people.
Look, if you are up for a challenge, come on out. It's a 1960s revival up in this piece, and it seems like for every year and a half, the community grows up about one decade. But there are a handful of people that are VERY warm and welcoming [viz. underground railroad], most of them older or from out of town--the rest are straight up evil and have no shame about it.

I lived in Bullhead City for almost 2 years till returning to the Phx area last summer.
My take on Kingman: it is pretty on the outside but; it comes across as rotten inside for want of a better adjective.
Now; for Bullhead: it is a bedroom community for Laughlin Nv and BHC gives off the vibe of what you see is what you get------trust me, that town definitely suffers from a lack of culture for its size.

I think above weather, critters, anything else, we would not want to be in a place that is hugely prejudicial against any one or any race. I believe - unfortunately - people will find some measure of prejudice everywhere, but there are some places worse than others. I sure hope Kingman is not, for our hearts are already longing for the move.
I do have what may sound to you a funny question - I've been reading some of the local papers, perusing the classifieds, etc....what in the world is a "swamp cooler" and how well do they work?:

WOW:
I spent time with relatives in Charleston, WV in the 1960's-------and, Kingman, Az funny enough reminds me of there sans Kanawha River obviously.
The downtown along Beale St is a 'flashback' (in the pleasant sense) for me.
Another community that looks like vintage Charleston is Needles Ca it is 60 miles from Kingman along the Colorado River.

Quick correction here:
Kingman city not bad-------it is the unincorporated areas that carry the 'Kingman' name that tend to be screwed up, sorry to say.

I love Kingman! Moved here from L.A. last year. FRIENDLY people. You can strike up a conversation with anyone in a checkout line. And COURTEOUS! I thought courtesy was dead, dead, dead, but it's alive and well in Kingman.
Moving to Kingman has saved my sanity! I was born in and lived in California all of my life so this was a big step for me. But I did it. Have got pioneer blood in me. Grandma traveled by covered wagon when she was a girl. So I figured I could do it. And did.
Maybe the shopping isn't that great, but I don't care anyway. Some items I used in L.A. I can't find here. So I change or order on line. Small price to pay for beautiful sunrises/sunsets, quiet, unstressful life. I would never go to live in Vegas -- far, far too built up. Went through there on my way here one time. That big city stuff is what I am escaping!
Have visited Havasu and Bullhead and didn't care for either. Not at all. Was so glad to get back home in Kingman.

SHHHHhhhhhh... You're not with the program.
You're supposed to say terrible things about Kingman so us locals get to keep it for ourselves.
Just kidding and welcome to the forum, from another unabashed Kingman lover.

Kingman is VERY racist. There are very few black people here, and the few that I see seem startled when I smile or hold a door, which says volumes to me. Lots of White Supremecist tattoos, Aryan gangs, etc. You would be horrified hon, please reconsider.
