Ria Rhodes, I've read your posts and I've yet to see you say anything positive about about anything in north central Az. Your posts seem more hurtful than helpful. Have you considered relocating?

And I don't ever say anything positive about *North Central NM.*
Am I also on your black list?
*North Central NM* and *North Central AZ* both have serious issues, yet are very, very different.

It was a nice 'looking' street in Old Town, it was 6th Street north...I LOVE the character and history in Old Town, and it's one of the things lacking in much of AZ, but it just felt weird there with all the arrests etc. right around me. I hate to bash a particular area and I know people who live around there who love it, but I just had a bad expereince for some reason. That being said, I would still live in Cottonwood again for it's conveniences. In Sedona I have not had that kind of thing happen however I know it's possible.

Can flooding be a problem?
Hey Folks!
How is living close to.. OR having riverfront property in Cottonwood?
Is there an annual flooding problem, water damage to homes from
being too close to the river?
I also notice that some homes have what is called a flood/irrigation ditch.
Are these used mainly to control flooding of homes on the river?
Thanks!

We lived in the Del Webb Cottonwood Ranch for 5 years. If you are looking for a community that is geared toward retirement age, this is the place for you. If not, then I'd look elsewhere. We found the area to be difficult to raise a family as the older population tended to be critical and infexible. Also, we have heard that they are considering putting in a cemetary immediately to the east of the Del Webb community and a large new development is being built behind the area which will result in more traffic and more "dust" which is already a huge problem. However, right now would be an excellent time to buy at Cottonwood Ranch as prices have dropped about $80,000 over the last year or so. You should be able to find a really nice home in your price range. Many people complained about the construction of the homes, but we were very happy with our home. We now live west of 260 behind Walmart with major cross streets as you mentioned, but farther west and find that this area is much more to our liking. You DEFINITELY have to check out the area though, as it completely depends on your neighbors. We really enjoy Cottonwood and certainly would recommend it. Hope this is helpful.

Dear Debbie SE MI...I hope you are still out there. Just found this forum which is wonderful and I read your post about moving from MI to Camp Verde/Rimrock and about your dogs. Did you ever find a place to live/rent until you bought something? I sure hope and pray so!! I am also in the process of moving to that area from CO (originally from IL born and raised in WI!!) and have 3 dogs. I am running into a few problems with renting but I think I might have found something. I'm actually planning on opening up a pet sitting/doggy day care business once I get there called Warm Heart 4 Cold Noses. I think it will go over very well with the Verde Valley campground people as they bring their dogs with them but can't take them with when they go sight seeing.
If you are still out there, any information/advice/input you can give me (good or bad) or anyone else out there...it would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you and I hope you are doing well and are happy with your move.
All the best,
Shar

Any advice about buying/renting the pecan farm on Salt Mine Road?
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has any information about the old pecan farm on Salt Mine Road in Camp Verde. I am interested in possibly buying or renting it so would appreciate any info/advice/opinions, etc. I'm looking to open a pet sitting/doggy day care business and thought that might be a great place to do it...any feedback???? Does Camp Verde/Cottonwood/Verde Valley/Rimrock need a pet sitting business?
Thanks in advance and hope to hear from y'all.
Shar

I can't say for sure if they do or don't, many people around this area are struggling due to job loss. Personally I only hire pet sitters that stay with my dog in my home and it sounds like you might want to take in dogs. I would imagine you need to have the correct zoning so check with the appropriate authorites before making a decision.
Also let the people at the Golden Bone Pet Shop in Camp Verde know about your services, they are great.
Good luck to you!
