Default What do you think of the Education system in AZ?

I just want to know what others think of the educational system here in AZ. How do you feel about the AIMS testing?

I have been back East and here. They are really behind in the public schools here.
My daughter is in second grade and they are barley doing simple 4 + 1 type math. I supplement her education, so I think she is where she needs to be. She is very bored in school in here,it is too easy.

AZ ranks 49th, behind only MS, in expenditure per pupil. The public schools here in Flagstaff are some of the worst I've seen anywhere! Beware!

I don't "feel" anything. I deal in facts. It's ranked at the bottom.

You can't draw a single conclusion about the education system in Arizona any more than you can draw one about the climate. Both vary drastically depending on where you live. Some areas have excellent schools with outstanding facilities, participating parents and strong community support. Other areas have poorly performing schools with few amenities, huge percentages of non-English speaking students, and parents who don't have time or the cultural values to care about their kids' education. Many are somewhere in the middle.
