Default Prescott Valley elementary schools?

We are considering relocating to Prescott Valley. Trying to find a good elementary school in the area. Coyote Springs, Granville and Mountain View--but we are looking for personal recommendations/experiences.

Prescott Valley mom is on a distinguished road
My grandchildren go to Coyote Springs. !st grade and 4th graders. It's the best school they have been inaround the area yet. Including Lincoln in Prescott. We had the oldest in a charter school here in Prescott Valley . We had to put him in the public school when we could no long transport him to and from school. What we found is that he was very far behind the public schools. We were very surprized. He has come along well. So far we are quite happy with the school and adminstration. I don't know any body that goes to Gransville but know they had some problems being a new school.

Default Granville

My son attended Liberty Traditional in kindergarten, 1st, and part of 2nd. I really liked it up until this year. Over the summer last year a lot of the teachers quit or were fired. Things really changed and my son was having a difficult time, so we moved him to Granville. We absolutely love it. The principal is wonderful. They have a positive approach with the children for everything. The staff is super friendly and his teacher is fantastic. I feel that he is safe there which is huge on my list. I highly recommend Granville Elementary.

The schools in PV and Prescott DO NOT take kindly to bi-lingual and/or special education needs. If you want great bi-lingual education or for special needs, PHOENIX is the area you want. This area is still "good ole'boy country" and they do not cater to those of different ethnicity.

Not ALL of the schools "suck". IF you want diversity and a good bi-lingual program, the Phoenix area is for you. Prescott or Prescott Valley does NOT have good programs.

Default Do Not Move To Prescott Valley

DONT DO IT! Prescott Valley is horrible. I bought my first house there, lived there for four years, and just couldn't take it any longer. The place still haunts me ( since I still own the property ). PV is the biggest home owners association I've ever seen. They'll fine you for anything.

People are NOT nice in Prescott Valley! It is populated primarily by retirees and blue collar workers that are worked to death and that are run down and tired. Everyone there was so grumpy and had no common courtesy. The local library volunteers and staff, all older retirees, are downright rude to families with kids. When I asked if the new library they are building would have a good sized children's and teen section, two of the old ladies there told me in very nasty voices that "We don't cater to special populations, this library is for everyone." Their emphasis was on the terms "special populations." Translation? They felt the library should be for old people ONLY. The children's section was a JOKE. In Prescott Valley, families waited for YEARS to get a water park but the senior center was enlarged and then a new one chosen for the seniors. Retirees have a mean choke-hold on town government and employment.

In Flagstaff, where I live, the libraries here have excellent kids and teens sections, a lot of programs for kids and teens and Flagstaff library charges NO FINES for overdue books!!! Prescott and Prescott Valley fine you for every item for every day they are late and yet their libraries are LAME compared to Flagstaff's libraries!

Nasty town, nasty people. I lived there a year and NONE of my neighbors even spoke to me, even though I introduced myself to all of them in a very friendly manner. It was awful.
