I liked UA better than ASU simply because ASU struck me as a giant commuter school while UA had a more traditional campus feel. Both are nice campuses, but UA's layout is nicer. ASU is greener. ASU is in a nicer part of town if only because UA is situated in an older part of Tucson. The east side of the UA consists of really nice old 1930's style homes. ASU seems as though it is in a neighboorhood built in maybe the 50's and 60's. It definately has a more suburban feel than the UA and is across the river from swanky Scottsdale.

To me, as stated earlier, the UA and Tucson seems more like the real Arizona and ASU and Tempe reminds me of Orange county, CA.

NAU on the other hand is a smaller school. Nice small campus in one of the most picturesque settings in America. Different climate for sure than the other two and probably a more earthy granola type of environment.

I attended both the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. When it comes education, I would have to go with Arizona State. The overall education that I recieved at ASU was excellent. ASU is no longer a party school. The big party school in the state is the University of Arizona. As a fraternity member at UA, everyday was a party and the rest of the student body followed in our steps. With Mr. Crow as the ASU President, the party scene at ASU is now gone.

I guess I don't understand, myself... try to think about the long-term. An education at a top-notch school back East, or perhaps in California if you get accepted, I think would be a better idea.
UA is much better than any SUNY school. The state universities in NY are in horrible shape, most SUNYs are in poor shape and all CUNYs are much worse academically than UA. But yes, private schools in the east are much better, but for some people, $40k a year compared to at most $15k a year....thats a big difference, with UA giving huge scholarships.

But if you got into Stanford...Stanford is very generous with financial aid. Is that something you did not apply for? The average student leaves Stanford with very little loans.

I would suggest UA. While Tucson isn't the biggest or most bustling city, UA has a great social scene and has a good balance between studies and partying. Academically, its the strongest in AZ.
