The child was railroaded. You all should listen to the "confession". He never admits to killing his father or the other guy. All circumstantial with other clues ignored.

what a travesty of justice what is being done to this kid.

"Mayberry meets CSI" is probably the most accurate phrase I've heard used to describe the way St. John and Apache County have handled this case.

I'll politely disagree. There were five of us kids growing up in our house with easily accessed LOADED firearms. Nothing bad ever happened. It wasn't luck, as DISCIPLINE reigned as our reality check.

While I respect your rules in your house and help you defend that right to make your own rules in your own home, to think that ALL kids should not be taught to use guns and to force the rest of us to abide by your rules really scares me.

thanks for sharing though.

There has been a post about this earlier. Read that. I think they have a gag order in place.

The boy killed the two men. That is a fact. There was no "railroading"

The Plea Agreement provides for counseling for the boy (a good thing) and, assuming everything works out, this guily plea will be expunged at age 18.

no matter what age a person is,

this individual:

killed, not one but two people, one was his father
intentionally killed 2 people
shot at them numerous times

I am not sure what the consequence should really be account of his age but he did kill 2 people with intention to kill shooting at them repeatability.

But he is only 8 yrs old.
(ops, brain fart, or 9?)

hard one.

What a travesty of justice that has been done to the VICTIMS!!! Why are you bleeding heart types so quick to defend young killers and treat them as victims, while the REAL victims had their lives taken in cold blood? They were never given a chance to tell their sides of the story.

This kid won't serve any prison time ... not even in a juvenile detention center. He is likely going to be let off the hook, despite committing a double homicide. Even with the allegations of child abuse (which may or may not be true), taking the lives of a parent and another person is NOT the solution. What kind of a message does this send to other little punks who are angry at their parents for disciplinary action? Kill your parents, and don't suffer any consequences. What a society we have become!

I think most are assuming that 8 year olds are all sweet and innocent. Most are, but there are some that are far from it!

I wouldn't want to be on the jury. I would want to lean towards being lenient (to a point) because of his age... but then he did (allegedly) kill two people.

Not "allegedly".

He acknowledged / admitted, he killed them
