I Need Your Expertise and Advice Soon!
I am getting transferred to Bullhead City, AZ and would like to know:
1) Which town or city is better to live in-Bullhead City or Laughlin, NV? Pros and cons of both, please.
2) I am looking for a one bedroom apartment in an apartment complex, in a nice area of the town. What do you recommend and why? I will rent it by telephone so I will not see it before I am transferred. I looked on Rent.com but there is only one listing called Crownpoint in Laughlin.
3) Is it advantageous for me to live in Nevada opposed to AZ on state taxes or does it matter? Working and living in a different state?
4) Am I going to see snakes, scorpions and such over in Laughlin or Bullhead? I sure hope not-in my parts...I only see cows and pigs!!!
5) Does Laughlin airport have commercial flights that my relatives can fly into to visit me or where would the closest airport be?
I am coming there all by myself and I have never had to travel this far for a relocation and I just would like to know what I am getting into! LOL
Thank you for any suggestions you may have!

Laughlin NV, because it is smaller and there is not much traffic. The residential area is a few miles away from the down town casino area, which is nice. Crime is low and community spirit is very high.

Contact any of the real estate companies. They all have rentals available. Remember, many people purchase in Laughlin but never stay long and decide to just rent their 'furnished' condo out.
3) Is it advantageous for me to live in Nevada opposed to AZ on state taxes or does it matter? Working and living in a different state?
Yes, it is better to live in NV than AZ because of the state taxes.
4) Am I going to see snakes, scorpions and such over in Laughlin or Bullhead? I sure hope not-in my parts...I only see cows and pigs!!!
No matter where you go in AZ you will see these critters. It is part of the wonderful attractiveness of living in Arizona. They don't want to hurt you and will most always stay out of your way. You have more to fear in people than you do in desert critters!
5) Does Laughlin airport have commercial flights that my relatives can fly into to visit me or where would the closest airport be?
It is really Bullhead City that has the airport. And yes, they have daily flights coming in from Phoenix and other places.

This will make you a much stronger person. It is very hot in Laughlin, really really hot. But the winters are probably like your summers and they last for about 7 months. Summers feel like they last for 12 months, but hit 100 around May and cool down in October.
Thank you for any suggestions you may have!
You will hate the heat, but love the winters. It is a small town, but large enough to have everything you need all around you. Have a wonderful time and a fantastic adventure.
Good luck!

Laughlin-Bullhead Airport
Hi,
To add to the questions above, how would I contact The airport for job Opportunites? My wife and I recently got married at the Belle. We just kept looking around and the place started to grow on us. We live in a large Eastern city that has its own fair share of heat...plus an ungodly amount of humidity!!! Laughlin is hot but that is worse. We both work for a major airline...but we are tired of the rat-race. The idea of the quiet, the mountains...and jet-sking on the Colarado seems very appealing. We were wondering the best approach would be for looking into aviation jobs at Bullhead airport. We checked it out when we were there and it seems like a nice little airport. If you have any info it would be very appreciated.

hollywood-
You might also look into Lake Havasu City. I think there is more activity at the airport. There are more opportunities in other areas for employment there if the aviation jobs are not available. Personally I think Havasu is a lot nicer place to live.

Thank you so much I appreciate the help you have given me. It is so cool that you can put out a shout in the dark and get an answer!!! Im going to add to the info though...I agree Havasu at present moment is probablly better...but there is something happening in Laughlin as we speak. A global FBO called Encore has taken over....less then a month ago. They are building a real terminal in conjunction with the casinos...no more trailer terminal..lol If you look at the flight listing for allegiant and the other carriers they are adding around 15 destinations by the fall. Cities all over the country. Encore has FBOs in Dallas, Maryland, Green Bay, Tampa. and they are based out of Houston..and if you can believe it Dublin Ireland and Paris France..I think something big is about to happen in Laughlin...It is there newest FBO. I have my private rotor license and my wife has her private fixed wing. It seems like Laughlin could be an official buzz city...what do you think??? I had to spend hours digging to find this..if you want to know more let me know Ill send it to you...and again thank you for your help. It is really nice to know that when you ask for help there are people there.
