Default Driving to Sedona

Husband and I will be driving from San Diego into Sedona the day after xmas. I read in the weather reports that there's some snow activity and was wondering if anyone knew if they are requiring chains? I've got an '07 Toyota Corolla, so no 4wd....

There is no snow at all in Sedona and if you're coming in from the south (I10 to I17), you should be fine. On the other hand if you're going through Flagstaff, which doesn't really make sense from San Diego, I'd check on the net, and the weather channel, as they have had a lot of snow.

In Sedona expect rain and temps in the low 40's with below freezing temps at night.

Wouldn't bet on anything being clear. Snow levels are to drop to around 3000 feet, even in the PHX area. Sedona being at ~4000 feet could get some snow. Check local news resources and weather and drive safely

Edit:Just checked Nationa Weather Service and snow is forecast for Sedona on Friday, so keep yourself updated on the forecast to be safe

There is no snow in our forecast however I would try to arrive in the middle of the day as the low temps could produce snow...our highs have been in the 40's and I just don't think it can snow at 40, and even if it did, it shouldn't impact driving as it would melt immediatley, however in the middle of the night, at 30, it could. I have found the most accurate forecast for the area to be sedona weather dot net.

Sometimes the news is funny, friends of mine have already called me asking about the weather up here in Sedona, as they heard there was even snow in Scottsdale last week. I don't think that is true because we didn't get any.

I always check the weather report for where ever I'm driving to, whatever time of year.
