Come for a vacation. Subscribe to a local newspaper or read one online. Contact a realtor.

I have done it, and now live in Sedona (I might move a bit further south though, it's still cold - to me anyhow - up here, in the winter). Yesterday morning it was only 19f and my pipes froze, that's much colder than it was in Toronto however our weather is better than theirs for the most part.

How were you planning on doing it, and what do you do for a living?

You can't just move here without going through the immigration process unless you are already American, you need a visa or work permit and they are not easy to get unless you are in a specific field. I lucked out myself.

If you come to the Sedona area it is best if you have your own source of income or work from home job as jobs here pay about $8.50 an hour and you can't live in Sedona on that.

Some people just come on vacation and don't leave but that makes you an 'illegal' and has a whole host of problems.

I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have!

Very few regular Canadian people just get in to the US without something special to offer (it's actually harder to immigrate as a Canadian as the US has quotas per country, and many Canadians immigrate as we are so close geographically)...I had a very unique situation and my attorney could prove that I was in the top 3% in my field (by google search, media that I provided him etc.). I paid $8,000, including legal fees, application fees, medical etc.

I say that if you set your mind to something it can be done but it might not be easy. Your best bet is to contact an immigration attorney. Have you been to AZ and Sedona before?

If you could find a job then that would be your best bet as they could help you immigrate however they have to prove that there isn't an American who can do what you do....that's the tough part.

Not one, I have been an entrepreneur for almost 20 years so have not been looking for jobs myself.

Good luck!
