They may have been volunteers for the group that gleans leftovers from the fields for the poor. Quite active in some parts of Az, volunteers go in after the harvest(with permission)and gather what falls on the ground, distributes it to the poor or to foodbanks.

that's kinda gross...  just think of all those chemicals that have been sprayed on those outer layers and then the mexicans ripping them off and stepping on them... and then just sitting there on the ground for who knows how long...

there are NO natural lakes in AZ. All are man-made lakes from dams. There are a few rivers like Gila and colorado that run (sometimes). it is the desert.... LOL!

I would rather have the dry heat instead of humidity. I live in Kansas, not by choice. I cannot stand the snow and ice here. I would rather have dry heat and sunshine than this. I know that it's more crowded there, but we can't have everything.

you know that is such a misconception everyone says oh its a dry heat NO ITS NOT its humid here in july august and septemeber! i mean alot of humidity swim in your clothes - if you want a dry heat go to the middle of nevada desert. that is a dry heat

in yuma or anywhere near a fake "lake" or river yes it is very humid. but PHX or anywhere not near water is very dry and only humid for a few days (not consecutive) during monsoon season.
