Smile Green Valley - Tuscon - where to live

I am looking to move to either Green Valley or Tuscon in the next 6 months. I am in my mid 50's.

Is their much difference tempature? I am also looking at purchasing a home or condo - which area would offer me the best value? Looking at small place as thier is only two of us.

Things to do - Tuscon or Green Valley? I know that Green Valley is in more of a retirement area than Tuscon but also are thier activities in that area to keep busy.

Also what areas of Tucson would be a good area to buy?

Looking forward to comments from both areas.

Thanks

Max

This is a fairly easy one, Max . . .

No matter your physical age, if you feel comfortable living in a "Menopause Manor" all-inclusive environment . . . go for Green Valley. For the most part, Golf is probably the wildest activity. The weather is similar with possibly a little more rain and not quite as warm year round (only by a couple of degrees) due to a few feet higher elevation.

Otherwise, I would strongly recommend Tucson. There are areas leaning more towards the older population without being exclusive plus many more activities for all age groups.

I sure hope this helps without offending anyone.

Check out this website about Green Valley..
Green Valley Chamber of Commerce - Green Valley Arizona Travel and Tourism
It should list all the activities that they have in the area.
Like the previous poster said...golf is a huge thing to do. A lot of people also are huge into bike riding. There is also madera canyon close by where you can enjoy hiking and other outdoor things. Very nice area...
I do have to disagree about the comparison of temps with Tucson. Its not just a couple of degrees cooler. Its about 10-15 degrees..which is a big deal during the summer. It also rains a WHOLE lot more.(I live right on the border of Green Valley and Sahuarita so I know the difference of the weather)
If you want a small town feel, then Green Valley is a good choice.
Hospitals are about 30+ miles away..if your in poor health, that is something to consider. There is an urgent care facility opening in the area some time soon, but I don't know when.
One more thing..in Green Valley you have to watch out for those speeders on the golf carts. They'll run ya over if your not watching..lol
