Lake Havasu
I recently visited LHC and am strongly considering relocating there from MO. This will be a tremendous life change for me as I will be leaving a job of 25 years at a high salary, but am tired of the corporate world. I have never done anything this extreme and need to look at all expects of the town. Can anyone with knowledge of the city please respond to me for guidance.
Thanks

It's going to be HOT there in the summer! I was in Laughlin NV (just up the road a piece from LHC) last August and the temp was 120! I mentioned this to one of the casino workers and they say that the town doesn't broadcast how hot it actually gets!

With our heat and humidity the comfort index here range in the 100,s. I have thought about casino work in Laughlin.
Looks like the cost of living in LHS is comporable to Missouri.
Thank you TN gal.

Don't fool yourself about the heat here. I live in Bullhead City/Laughlin. We have basically the same temps as in Lake Havasu. We may not have the humidity, but I will guarantee you the heat will knock you off your rocker
Make sure you come and visit during July/August before making any permanent plans. We are looking at moving to Texas soon, we visited there in July and WELCOMED the lower temps and humidity...we thought it was great compared to here and we have lived here for 19 years!
Both areas, Lake Havasu and Laughlin are fine places to live as long as you do not have school age children. Schools leave a lot to be desired. Do you have anymore specific questions?

Hmmm. leaving a high salary for lake Havasu? Very Brave. As long as you have a nest egg to live on, because it is limited in resources. It is far away from alot, as you may know, and yes, one of the hottest places in western U>S territory. Good luck tho. It is a special place.

About the heat in LHC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I am going to experience the heat too, However isn't that what AC is for? To get away from the heat go inside and enjoy the AC for while. That is what I plan on.

Actually; Topock/Golden Shores seems to be a tad cooler vs. either LHC or Bullhead City proper............maybe due to the greater amount of vegetation.

If you do decide to move to Lake Havasu which is my Home be sure to check on how much Utilitys are. They are not cheap. The good news is the cost of a house has come down.
