Show Low area: Solar, Wind, Rainwater, and alternative energy
Hello all,
Can anyone shed light on any vendors or existing structures in the area that are "off the grid". We are looking to build an off the grid home over the next few years up there.
Thanks.

I don't know if the weather data in Show Low gives you an idea of how much wind show low gets. In the Spring, pinetop - show low area actually gets a lot of wind. Love the temp of the spring, but hate the fact no one can play golf because of the wind.
Here is a site based on a new wind panel design.

Seems a lot of the X generation are looking to live off grid. My parents are one of those.

The weather data from the federal government has plenty of spots that seem to no be charted. They show north of show low to have "fair wind" but I think the data is a few years old.
Thanks for the link, I will check it out.
I am not sure I understand... you or your parents are generation X?

ahhh, well I am just in front of Gen X (I am just shy of 40) but close enough. I think after growing up with a "70 hour work week and $$, power,.." New York attitude, life took the edge off me a few times, so I am getting closer and closer to needing a slower style... So here I am doing research.

Slower style of life is what that area is. Nice people, great potential. A lot of people posting here seem to be headed to that area for retirement.

Thanks to both you and msta1999 for the terrific links - but especially to you since we're considering wind power on our land out at J-6 (we've got very steady wind in the area). I've bookmarked the site and will check it in detail a bit later.
