Sure, we moved here 2.5 years ago from Rockland County, NY (worth mentioning since you're from Long Island). We lived in Silicon Valley before that. We have kids and work here. Kingman was supposed to be a brief stay (long story), and then head back to California. However, we're enjoying it so much, we'll probably stay here forever. So that should tell you something.
I and other Kingmanites have written volumes in this forum, and so I won't repeat myself at length here when it's all available by invoking the Search function. I will say that some people love Kingman, and some people hate it. It all really depends on what you want in life. Please do some reading and feel free to ask more specific questions. Good luck!

As kdog stated.
Too; I lived in Mohave County for most of the early 2000's so I have some working knowledge of the Kingman area.

Kingman is a nice town. Has everything by way of conveniences.. most
everything that you would need. Not so hot as lower elevations, mild
winter season. Friendly folks. Close to the Colorado river, Laughlin casino's,
Vegas, and Grand Canyon.

As KDOG stated we have volumes covering Kingman, enough to make a great sticky in fact.
Did you consider searching prior to creating yet another post on Kingman?

I like to see new threads asking about Kingman.
Because there may be some new things going on there,,,
Maybe there might be a new forum member who lives there
and could give his/her additional input about the town. Kingman
has more to offer than most people think... and most forum
members do not realize you can do a search for old threads,
I did not know this or even think about it until someone brought
it to my attention. But I still like to see and read any new threads
about Kingman.. ya never know what new things or info that
maybe has not been touched-on yet.... lol.

Most of the old threads are the same as this one - just a bunch of people telling you to read even older threads.
True, some posters have said great things in past threads, and those same posters don't want to waste time to post the same thing again. You also lose old posters who aren't posting on the new one. BUT you also gain NEW things from new posters or even old things rehashed a bit differently from past posters with a more current spin and version to it, and to me, well worth a brand new thread because of that.
Well, I'll start...I've read most of the old Kingman posts in the past...and most are quite NEGATIVE. However, it seems on the last few recent threads, it has been more positive.
To me, I drove around in Kingman and quite liked what I saw. I liked its proximity to NV and CA...I liked that it had such a new feel to it...I liked that some good restaurants that I would like were there. For its small cize and such a NON-city (compared to Phoenix, Vegas, etc.)...Kingman is just basically a small town. But I liked the feel of it for what it was. I never expected major city amenities as it simply isn't a major city whatsoever, but for what it is, it has all the basics that I'd expect, and none of the negatives that you sometimes didn't expect from a place you thought you would have liked, if that makes sense.

I think that's a little unfair. Having just searched for threads in this forum with the word Kingman in their title, I can tell you that very few of them are answered in that way. It's pretty hard to answer extremely vague and open-ended questions by people who give not the slightest bit of information about themselves. We're not clairvoyant you know. Meanwhile, if the OP returns to ask more specific questions, we're here to help.
Are you really in Japan, and writing about Kingman? That's way cool, and I'm glad you got a good impression of our little town.

Sorry that is a little unfair. Come to think of it Kingman posters aren't bad like that. But the thread started with that theme, and once that theme gets going, it can become a regular theme over and over with additional new threads/inquiries. I'm thinking one particular forum that I frequent which is VERY bad like that, and projecting my annoyances with it over to here. Sorry about that.
I guess I'm always passively viewing for additional information on key cities, and when a Kingman new thread opened up, and seemed so quickly dismissed, I thought I'd post something to keep the thread going.
Unfortunately just passive reading of it myself, no specific questions I'm personally curious about...but sometimes get a good feel by observing others questions, answers, and discussion in particular
