Last time I that checked: real Italians are citizens of Italy and usually live there----------irrespective of actual race/ethnicity.

Arizona isn't the east or west coast. Hope that sets expectations.

Also check the Italian Consulate website for Phoenix. I hear there are links as well.

iirc, there are quite a few quaint, authentic places around the AZ italian club on 12th st., just south of Northern. I grew up in West Mesa, and there is no Italian community there, but quite a number of italian resturants. West Mesa is now becoming a hub in the Asian community, epecially Vietnemese. Outside of predominatly hispanic areas, theres not much of a ethinic community scene in the valley.

I'm talking about Italian-Americans. Over here in Jersey, it's the next best thing. We're the closest thing to real Italians off the boot (1). you know what I mean?
(1) "Off the boot" is a saying that most nearly means "Outside of Italy"

I work with three guys who have a tad of Italian heritage going by their surnames. My G/F: two of her grandparents from that nation. My step sisters are 1/2 Italian and my bio surname (father is from Hungary) is usually Italian.
