Litchfield Park?
Is Litchfield Park a good area in AZ? How are the schools? How far from Phoenix? Please advise.

LP is at the top of the heap in every way. Lovely, established area, great schools, low crime, lots of nearby shopping, restaurants, reasonable commute to downtown PHX. No worries.

Thanks so much for your quick response. I really don't hear many people talking about this community is it because its small? Also, since the air is dry there have you experienced sinus problems?

Yes, allergy season is most of the time in Phoenix Metro.
Watch out for LP if you must commute to Phoenix for work. I-10 West needs 10 lanes to compensate for all the homes built in the West Valley and there are only 5 lanes which merge to 4 then to 2 lanes heading West. Evenings going from Phoenix to LP are terrible because you not only have to contend with the traffic but you are facing the sun in your eyes. There is no way we would live off the I-10 corridor West of I-17 based on the traffic flow.
But we do agree that LP is beautiful. Go stay at the Wigwam Resort (will be $99 in a month or so) and experience it yourself

Freeway widening starts later this year. And, anyway, unlike say Ahwatukee, with LP there are a lot of ways to get there besides the I-10 freeway. Also, it is near the start/end of the traffic jam at Dysart so it clears (as much as freeways do here in rush hour) fast. What gets me is the traffic jam on weekends, but that will go away with the widening I think.
Traffic along I-10 is bad at the moment but it is no worse than I-17, 360, North 101, Broadway curve, etc, etc in rush hour. My wife gets downtown (16th St and Roosevelt everyday in 45 minutes or so from EMR and that is about 10-15 minutes further out than LP. It's a lot faster than say, Scottsdale. Agree on the Wigwam, its cool and a landmark too.

I have pretty much constant sinus problems from allergy, I guess. Allergies vary. For me it is worst right now through the first 100 degree day (which might be tomorrow LOL) and then they are pretty low ebb through the summer and fall. There is very little mold here and no dust mites which are both problems for people in the east. I think you get used to the dry air. I like it. Humidity just feels horribly uncomfortable after having lived here so many years.

This is a very nice area. We live near there in Surprise, and the difference I would have to say is that Litchfield Park is much better situated by freeways. The commute to Phoenix is around 45 minutes in usual traffic. The schools are good, but I hear that if you find a house in the Tolleson school district, it's not as good.

I agree LP is very nice, I have a few friends that live there and they like the area and the schools.
