Default 16-17 getting first time Driver's License in Arizona.

So I read up some stuff on teens getting their drivers license. I'm 16 right now but by the time we move I'll be 17, not like that makes a difference really.

Anyways, I got my drivers permit in July, and I think I qualify now to go for my drivers license in Connecticut but my mom thinks that I should just wait and get it in Arizona. Well I read that they have (G) permit license and you need to have that for 6 months and I was wondering if I go down there to get my license, will my Connecticut permit be pretty much void and I'll end up having to get Arizona's drivers permit and wait another 6 months before I can get my license down there?

Another thing is we're driving here so we're going to be switching on and off who is driving. Am I allowed to drive through different states with a Connecticut drivers permit or is that illegal? My mom or my aunt would be in the car with me obviously when I am driving.

Last thing, I read that car registration is expensive? If we registered our Pontiac Grand AM GT 2003 down there, roughly how much would it cost? And my aunt has a Ford Explorer, not sure what year but I think it's pretty new, in the 2000's.

We have no way of knowing the registration costs, unless someone with the exact same vehicle has registered it recently. I can tell you that I just registered a 2001 Nissan Sentra for $30 for 2 years.

You should really learn how to drive a bit more before getting your license, 6 months is nothing.

A CT driver's PERMIT, is just that, a permit to learn to drive within CT. You are allowed to operate a car with licensed adult supervision on limited roads and limited time of day.

It is invalid outside CT. You are not allowed to operate a vehicle without a valid driver's license outside of CT. No, you are not legally able to drive a car across the country.
Once in AZ, your CT permit is not transferable. You will need to start the process for a AZ limited permit, since you are not 18.

AZ registration is expensive compared to some states due to a value tax on your car. It's a property tax on the market value of your car.

And I agree with KarmaPhx, you still have a long way to go in order to become a competent safe driver. Getting a permit and then license only means you grasped the bare minimum to operate a vehicle on the road. To become a great driver is a lifetime endeavor. But being a teen means you feel impatient and immortal. We've all been there.
