Hello, I know it's been a while since your post, but when I was reading the responses - I had to reply!! I live here and have for almost a year now. It is beautiful, peaceful, affordable and relaxing. It is everything that Phoenix is NOT. I was born and raised in AZ and understand how different the different parts of the valley are - the goods and bads of each. I have ALWAYS preferred the East valley and as the population builds continue to push further east...If you like tons of population, traffic, old run down buildings, mass crime...etc. Then by all means, stay near Phoenix.
Prison town?? I still do not understand what people are trying to imply when they mention that...The prisons here lend many jobs and attract many amazing people that they employ - from nurses to guards. Phoenix has prisons too! Many many areas of the valley have prisons. Bet most people didn't know that - because the truth is - WHY WOULD YOU? Unless you or someone you know works there.
The land is beautiful here - I breathe a sigh of relief when I come home...Obviously, if you work in Phoenix - don't live in Florence...That is too far. But, live here if you want to enjoy the beauty of AZ, have new commercial and residential arround you, and be part of a brand new growing community.
